Providing professional legal advice on a personal and practical level John became interested in law after reviewing legal texts and finding all the cases were so different and interesting. He was asked to join Bingham Law by the four other original founding partners at the time of the commencement of the firm in 1987. The purpose was to provide a larger boutique firm in the City with individual lawyers who already had an established reputation and a good client base in both business law and litigation. One of the original goals and what attracted him to the firm was the aim to have a good work life balance with their families who at the time were all young families with growing children. He developed his concentration in the fields of corporate commercial law, real estate law and wills and estate planning as these were the areas of law he was most interested in and because he enjoyed meeting with clients.
John involves himself in the community as a member and trustee of St. Paul's United Church in Riverview. He enjoys playing squash, cross country and alpine skiing, boating and being the groundskeeper at his cottage where he enjoys entertaining family and friends.
