  • Christine Ryan
  • Title
    Lawyer, Litigation
  • Empathetic, driven and goal-oriented, Christine takes the lead to guide clients through uncertainty and achieve successful outcomes.

Christine graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science with honours. After working as a biologist (and also a barista), she decided to pursue a legal career. During her legal studies at the Université de Moncton, she was the recipient of scholarships and competed in the inter-university Laskin Moot competition, where she debated constitutional and administrative legal issues. During her common law studies, she took advantage of an exchange program and studied civil law at the Faculté de droit of the Université de Poitiers in France, completely immersing herself in French and European culture.

After completing her Juris Doctor in 2016, she continued on the academic route as a legal researcher for law professors, and furthered her education by pursuing her Master of Laws (LLM). She then joined her faculty as a colleague when she taught Insurance Law at the Faculté de droit of the Université de Moncton. During this time, she also worked as an insurance agent, which allowed her to prolong her waning athletic pursuits.

Having lived in various locations around the world, Christine wanted to return to her Acadian roots and she was drawn to Bingham Law's camaraderie, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The firm’s collaborative spirit was exactly what she was looking for, and, being surrounded by other driven individuals, Christine finds that this competitive yet supportive nature continually motivates her to push her limits and provide effective solutions for her clients. Her practice is in insurance litigation, construction litigation, personal injury, and motor vehicle accidents.

Christine is empathetic, curious, ambitious, personable, goal-oriented (at times tenacious), and detail-oriented. Beyond her life as a biologist, barista, barrister & solicitor, she is also a beach sprinter. In her downtime, you can find her in the kitchen with her family being creative.

Mini-bio

Sprinter attempting to run, gastronome, traveler, and now a lawyer powered by espresso – because justice, like coffee, is best served strong and without delay.

Random facts

Favourite sport: Although she no longer competes, she played university basketball and did track & field.

Sports I watch religiously: Basketball, more specifically, the NBA, and to a lesser extent, Formula 1 (still grieving Kimi Räikkönen’s retirement).

Band/artist I will drive 12 hours to see: Bon Entendeur, Led Zeppelin, and J. Cole

Movie I have seen too many times: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

I have read at least 5 books from this author: J.R.R. Tolkien

Interesting fact people might not know about me: As a biologist, I was an Ornithologist.

A favourite quote: “Run fast, eat slow”. Life sometime requires us to sprint, but it is important to balance that intensity with nourishment – the art of finding harmony between ambition and well-being!
